Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama, born on January 17, 1964, is an American attorney and author. She is the first African-American to serve as the First Lady of the United States. During her husband Barack Obama's presidency from 2009 to 2017, she played an active role in various initiatives, including promoting healthy living, education, and family issues.

Personal Life

Michelle Obama grew up in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Harvard Law School and worked as an attorney before transitioning to a career in public service. She met Barack Obama while they were both students at Harvard. The couple married in 1992 and have two daughters, Malia and Sasha.

First Lady of the United States

As First Lady, Michelle Obama launched several initiatives, including "Let's Move!", a campaign to fight childhood obesity, and "Reach Higher", a program to encourage college access for students from low-income backgrounds. She also became an advocate for military families and veterans.

Post-White House Life

Since leaving the White House, Michelle Obama has continued to work on her initiatives through her non-profit organization, When We All Vote, which aims to increase voter turnout. She has also written two books, "Becoming" and "The Light We Carry", which became bestsellers and offer insights into her life and experiences.
