Breaking News: Marcus Morris Sr. Out Indefinitely Due to Knee Injury
The New York Knicks received a big blow to their playoff hopes when it was announced that starting forward Marcus Morris Sr. would be sidelined indefinitely due to a left knee injury. Morris suffered the injury in the team's loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night.
An MRI taken Saturday revealed a Grade 2 MCL sprain, according to a source close to the team. Morris is expected to miss at least four weeks, and his status will be re-evaluated after that time frame.
Morris has been a key part of the Knicks' resurgence this season, averaging 13.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. He has been especially effective in the playoffs, averaging 17 points and 7.6 rebounds in the Knicks' first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks.
