Smoky Skies and Scattered Showers: What to Expect Tuesday
Air Quality Alert Issued
Due to wildfires burning in the western United States and Canada, the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency has issued an air quality alert for Tuesday, September 6th. Smoke and haze from the fires is expected to impact the region, with air quality levels reaching unhealthy levels in some areas.
Those with respiratory conditions, such as asthma or COPD, are advised to take precautions and limit outdoor activities.
Scattered Showers and Storms Forecast
In addition to the poor air quality, scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast for Tuesday. The National Weather Service predicts that the showers will begin in the afternoon and continue into the evening. The storms could produce heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds.
Motorists are advised to be cautious while driving, as the rain could make roads slick and reduce visibility.
